Winter Park resident, Lindsay Bettis, is a Summa Cum Laude graduate of the University of Central Florida (UCF) with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. Landing a spot on the President's or Dean's list every semester, Lindsay went above and beyond as a marketing student. During her senior year, she was the captain of the team that won the Strategic Management Capstone Competition among 150 teams in the college of business for her group's recommendation to corporate Verizon officials on the best use of 5th generation technology. As a result, she was awarded a scholarship from Verizon Inc and secured her spot as part of the top two percent of strategic management students. In addition to her commitment to academic excellence, she cheered on the nationally ranked Knights as a member of the university's dance team, was awarded as scholar athlete for having the highest GPA on the team three years in row, was chosen as a member of the Student Athlete Leadership Institute and Student Athlete Advisory Committee, and served as an academic mentor to freshman athletes.
Upon graduation, Lindsay was offered a position with a leader in the behavioral healthcare industry, Advanced Recovery Systems, a company dedicated to treating addiction, eating disorders, and mental health. Initially starting as an intern, Lindsay has now been promoted 3 times where she now serves as the Community Outreach Director for The Recovery Village where she manages a team of business development representatives as they aim to help clients navigate mental health and substance use disorder resources. As someone who grew up in a household with substance abuse, Lindsay finds it extremely rewarding to connect those struggling with the appropriate resources to start their recovery journey. In her role of community outreach, she combines her passion for recovery and marketing to ultimately save lives everyday. To date, Lindsay has had a direct impact on over 1,000+ lives by working in collaboration with over 10,000+ healthcare providers and their clients within the community and has logged over 20,000+ miles on "the road to recovery." Her goal is to impact over 2,000 individuals by the end of 2022 as well collaborate with Advanced Recovery Systems on new initiatives to help thousands more across the country.
Lindsay currently serves as Miss Florida within the Miss America Organization and will be competing for the title of Miss America in December , 2022. Over her six years of competing and seven year involvement, she has earned over $58,000 dollars and won various awards including: Preliminary Interview, Preliminary On-Stage Question, Preliminary Lifestyle & Fitness in Swimsuit, Personal Brand Challenge Winner, Scholastic Achievement Winner, top 10 placements, and 1st and 2nd runner-up to Miss Florida. Lindsay attributes much of her success in academics, personal life, and her career to the skills learned through the Miss America Organization and is proud to be a part of an organization that is preparing great women for the world and the world for great women.
